Villa Maria raises $22,000 benefiting
the Breast Clinic of the Cedars Cancer Institute
Every year, Villa Maria, a private girl’s high school, organizes a Breast Cancer Awareness Week to help raise funds benefiting the Breast Clinic at the Cedars Cancer Institute.During this event, activities such as bake sales, Smoothie bars, a cotton candy stand, head and leg shavings, a rock concert and prize draws have been organized. In addition, we have been privileged to welcome Dr. Fleiszer, renowned surgeon, to address our senior students about the realities of breast cancer.
Now in its fifth year, the Breast Cancer committee organized a Dragon Boat Festival which took place on Saturday, May 12th, 2012 at the Lachine Canal. This ground-breaking full day event brought together our 600 students, parents, friends and supporters.
With the precious help of sponsors, volunteers and supporters, this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Week raised $22,000 benefitting the Breast Clinic of the Cedars Cancer Institute.
