37th Annual Cedars Golf Classic
July 6, 2015

2015 Cedars Golf & Cycling Classic

37th edition of Cedars' annual golf tournament
and inaugural cycling event

Montreal, July 10, 2015—On July 6, under balmy skies, the Cedars Cancer Foundation welcomed over 300 golfers, cyclists and other guests to its 2015 Cedars Golf and Cycling Classic.

At day’s end, during the dinner and entertainment portion of the event, the Foundation proudly recognized a number of honourees, namely the women and men who initiated the creation of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and the Glen project in the 1990s, as well as other visionaries selected by each hospital foundation and Cedars. Special guests in attendance included Bob Gainey, Yvan Cournoyer, Torrey Mitchell, and José Théodore.

Cedars thanks its longstanding host, the Elm Ridge Country Club, as well as the event’s co-chairs and organizing committee, sponsors, advertisers, donors and participants. It is through enthusiastic community support, both in time and in funding, that Cedars is able to sustain and expand its programmes and financial assistance for cancer patients and their families, a goal it has been faithful to since 1966.

The event raised over $200,000. Proceeds will be directed to Cedars’ Mission in support of cancer care, research and education for patients of all ages through diagnostics and treatment to supportive and palliative care. Funds will support the MUHC’s Cancer Care Mission and Pediatric hematology/oncology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital through Sarah’s Fund, as well as a leadership gift for cancer research at the Research Institute of the MUHC.

Thank you to all golfers, cyclists, guests, sponsors and donors!
