29th Annual Cedars Golf Classic
July 9, 2007
Golfers celebrate 40+ More than $565,000 raised in sold-out tournament Sixty-four foursomes hit the links on July 9th for the 29th Annual Cedars Golf Tournament at Elm Ridge Country Club co-chaired by Robert Côte and Ricky Aziz. The 264 golfers knew that 40+ was not a reference to their handicaps! They were there to enjoy a tremendous day of fun and competition and to recognize over 40 years of commitment of the Cedars Cancer Institute by paying tribute to the Founders, Past-Presidents and the wonderful philanthropic legacy of Cedars. In a befitting tribute to the Cedars pioneers, the event raised an astounding $565,000 to help build a new state-of-the-art state-of-the-art Pharmacy, by purchasing specialized equipment such as Hoods for the Montreal General Hospital Oncology Day Centre of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). This special equipment, the first of its kind in Quebec, will assist our pharmacists in the chemotherapy preparations for our many cancer patients. Cedars is proud that this most advanced technology will provide the best in oncology care at the MUHC
The Cedars is grateful to the sponsors, donors, golfers, advertisers and dedicated volunteers whose efforts made for a great day of golf, an elegant evening gala and tribute and most importantly, another generous contribution to Cedars Cancer Institute.
