VILLA MARIA BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WEEK: $26,000 RAISED FOR CEDARS CANCER FOUNDATION
Every year, Villa Maria, a private high school, organizes a Breast Cancer Awareness Week to help raise funds benefitting the Breast Clinic of the Cedars Foundation.
The funds raised will be used to support the updating and maintenance of the MUHC Patient Education Guide for Breast Cancer. You can see this work at (http://www.muhcpatienteducation.ca/).
We are delighted to report that Villa Maria’s 2017 Breast Cancer Awareness Week, culminating in the Color Run, was an enormous success. Students and staff all had a great time and with your help managed to raise $26,000!
During this event, activities such as bake sales, head shavings, yoga sessions, conferences and workshops related to young women’s health issues and prize draws have been organized. In addition, we have been privileged to welcome Dr. Fleiszer, renowned surgeon, to address our senior students about the realities of breast cancer.
