Cedars Gala raises almost $5 million for the Cancer Care Mission of the MUHC
Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2025 edition of Le Gala, which was held at Windsor Station on Friday, November 28. We’re proud to say that the event raised an astonishing $4,938,800 for the MUHC Cancer Care Mission! This year’s gala was extra special, as it celebrated the 60th
anniversary of the Cedars Cancer Foundation, the 25th anniversary of Sarah’s Fund for Cedars, and the10th anniversary of the opening of the Cedars Cancer Centre at the MUHC. The theme of the evening was “A Journey Through Time,” and guests were transported back to the golden age of luxury train travel by a rich, jewel-toned décor scheme, vintage décor elements, as well as by scrolling visuals depicting the past six decades at Cedars. Montréal Rhapsody Orchestra and Juno Award-winning pop singer Rêve kept guests dancing for hours, following a sumptuous meal. We were honoured to have as our guests the Honourable Tony Loffreda, Senator for Shawinigan; Michelle Setlakwe, MNA for Mont-Royal–Outremont; Jennifer Maccarone, MNA for Westmount–Saint-Louis; Desirée McGraw, MNA for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce; and Michael Stern, the newly-elected Mayor of Westmount. As the gala was raising funds to support excellence in cancer care, research and education at the MUHC, we were also delighted to host Peter Kruyt, Chair of the Board of the MUHC, Dr. Lucie Opatrny, President and Executive Director of the MUHC, and Dr. Rhian Touyz, Executive Director and Chief Scientific Officer of the RI-MUHC. Cedars is profoundly grateful to the honorary gala co-chairs, Andrew Lutfy and Melanie Cosgrove, George and Simé Armoyan, and Nadim Rizk and Audrey Huot, for their belief in Cedars, for their generous support, and for helping to bring out so many people to the gala. We also wish to thank Paola Aprikian and Daphne Tsadilas-Shamie, the two event co-chairs, for their time, creativity and commitment to Cedars. Our gratitude also goes out to the numerous partners, donors, and sponsors who helped us surpass our fundraising goal.
