Each year, one in 72 women will be diagnosed in Canada with ovarian/endometrial cancer. Of these, 70% will be detected already at a late stage (3 or 4) due to the fact that the disease presents few to no symptoms until advanced which greatly reduces the survival rate from 93% for early stage detection to between 10-30% for later stage detection.
The ultimate goal of the DOvEE project is to ensure that eligible women have access to the necessary clinics to allow for the early detection and diagnosis of ovarian and endometrial cancers.
Thank you for supporting us and
we look forward to your participation on October 15, 2017.
The Cedars Cancer Foundation would like to share Dr. Lucy Gilbert’s interview with Ms. Takahashi on CTV NEWS regarding the importance of ovarian cancer awareness, early detection and the announcement of the opening a new satellite clinic. Dr. Lucy Gilbert is the Director of Gynecology-Oncology Division and Founder of the DOvEE Project at the MUHC.
