2017 Cedars Auction & Raffle Soirée raised over $395,000

Cedars Annual Auction and Raffle Soirée at Le Windsor a hit!
Montreal, December 12, 2017— Last night, over 600 people gathered at Montreal’s iconic Le Windsor for a festive evening to help the Cedars Cancer Foundation go beyond in its efforts to help cancer patients and their families. With over 1,600 raffle tickets sold for the coveted cash prizes and a prestigious Rolex Yacht-Master II watch for men in steel and everose gold, as well as bids made online and onsite for the silent auction items, more than $395,000 were raised.

The Cedars Annual Auction and Raffle Soirée is one of our signature events where everyone always has a great time ushering in the holiday season, but it also fulfils an important fundraising function,” said Cedars Board Chair Mark Saykaly. “Cedars is very grateful to the hundreds of people who made this annual event another resounding success.”

Amidst a sparkling décor at Le Windsor, patrons sampled food from some of Montreal’s trendy eateries while sipping their beverage of choice; bid on everything from the quintessential holiday basket to large-ticket items, and cheered as the much-anticipated raffle prizes were drawn one after the other. In addition to the Yacht-Master II watch for men in steel and everose gold, courtesy of Château D’Ivoire and valued at over $30,000, 16 cash prizes, ranging from $1,000 to $20,000, were handed out.

Proceeds from the event will be used to ensure that the Cedars Cancer Centre at the MUHC, which treats 63% of cancer patients in the Rossy Cancer Network, has the means to encourage excellence and innovation.

“The Cedars Annual Auction and Raffle Soirée would not have been an unbeatable crowd-pleaser without the tremendous contributions of donors, sponsors, our event chairs and organizing committee,” added Cedars President and CEO Jeff Shamie. “On behalf of the patients and families who are our raison d’être, I extend a heartfelt thank you for helping us to go beyond!”

Event sponsors were: Château D'Ivoire, Restaurant La Sirène de La Mer, Helix, Travelway, Rossy Family Foundation, Banque Nationale, MSA Financial, Via Rail Canada, Brian and Alida Rossy Family Foundation, Domenic Pappadia, Federal Real Estate Inc., Scotia Wealth Management, Moore Portfolio Management, Tony and Carine Aksa and Ardene.
